EASTLAKE BRIDGE CLUB IS FIRST IN THE NATION!

Ever wondered what would happen if you had taken a different line of play or whether you took the best line of play? Now you can replay it as many diferent ways as you want - without an eraser! Or you can let the computer show you the best line of play!

We are now offering the ability to REPLAY online (or offline for that matter), the bridge hands you played at the club. Check out the most recent results page to try it.

The bridge program we are using has won the world computer 'olympics' the last 2 years in a row, defeating such well known programs as Bridge Baron and GIB (BBO's pet). This program was a finalist in 2000 and 2002, winner in 2005, 2007 and 2008. We are the only club in the nation that offers this feature to our players. I have been in touch with Yves Costel and have identified a glitch in the program that we have worked around in order to use the program on our site. Needless to say, I'm excited about this big achievement!

BIDDING AND PLAY ANALYSES - THIS WEDNESDAY!

Wednesday Evening April 1 is the first Wednesday of the month and we will be participating in an event with several clubs across the nation. Hands are pre-dealt and after the game an expert analysis will be posted online describing how the bidding and play could/should have proceeded for every hand. It is a wonderful opportunity to improve your bidding, play, and learn from the experts. There will be no extra charge to participate in the event so plan to attend!

LESSON SERIES STARTING APRIL 14th

We are starting a new series for experienced players as well as repeating the beginner/refresher course. All classes start the second week of April. Anyone who has already taken the course can repeat it for free as many times as you like. The beginner classes will be 1 1/2 hours for 6 weeks. For experienced players, the 'DOUBLES' series will be 4 weeks and last 2 hours each. Check out the Bridgeskool link at the top of this page for details. Please call with any questions.

NO GAME APR 8 TO SUPPORT THE SAN DIEGO REGIONAL

The San Diego Regional comes only once a year and hopefully everyone will get over there and play at least once. Please talk to me if you have any desire to play and can't find a partner or get up the courage to give it a try. It is a wonderful opportunity to see what the exciting world of bridge has awaiting you. Check out the calendar for a schedule (posted April 8th).

NEW LOOK AND FEATURE COMING TO THE RESULTS PAGE

In the near future I will be posting the results in a new format that will include the makeable contracts. Eastlake Bridge Club will be the first to have the hand diagram with the makeable contracts alongside the results.

BRIDGE PRO TO SPEAK AFTER MORNING GAME

For 30 minutes after the morning game, a bridge professional will give a little talk about some of the hands bid and played that morning and be available to answer any questions about the bidding or play. Eastlake Bridge Club is thrilled to be able to offer this service as a compliment to our game. Our own personal bridge genie!

HIRE A BRIDGE PRO FOR YOUR PRIVATE PARTY

Have a bridge pro sit at your table and coach you (and your guests) on the bidding and play in the comfort of your own home. With each player the pro will be available to assist in the bidding and when the final contract is reached and played, he will analyse the play and defense. Your bidding, play of the hand and defense will improve dramatically. Invite your favorite partners to a couple hours of personalized coaching. Cost is $20.00 per person for 2 hours of fun and learning Kathie

That's all the news from Lake Wobegone.

Remember: Take all your tricks (and some of theirs).
