SEASONS GREETINGS FROM EASTLAKE BRIDGE CLUB
POTLUCK & UPGRADED CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP - DEC 30TH
Eastlake Bridge Club was awarded an Upgraded Club Championship for bringing in new members. An Upgraded Club Championship pays more masterpoints than either the regular club game, or a Club Championship held 4 times a year. We will be holding the Upgraded Club Championship on December 30 and will combine it with a pot luck dinner at 5:15 before the game. For those that missed the last pot luck - I have to say, there was some major good food going down so put on your party hats (and your bidding shoes) and let's eat, drink and be merry while visions of masterpoints float through our head! Watch out for Kathy Hennessy though, she will be serving wine to her opponents as she is in the hunt for the District Ace of Club awards and every point counts heading into the last day of the year.
A BIG THANK YOU
To all the wonderful players who have shown their appreciation both at the anniversary potluck and the surprise birthday party (complete with "My Pretty Princess" decorations) earlier in the year. We don't have a BIG club but we certainly have the best members, from helping to set up and break down each week, to being willing to play with beginners, and for being so supportive in so many different ways. We are growing but it is taking all of your support to do so.
NO GAME DECEMBER 23RD
Since most people are busy with visitors and families, we will not be holding a game on the 23rd. This is the one game I'd like to hold since both my daughters will be in town and I'd love them to meet all of you. Hopefully we'll run into some of you while enjoying the Christmas season about town.

NATIONALS HELD IN SAN DIEGO
It was a very exciting 10 days to have the Nationals here in San Diego. Some of my students who have never even played in an official game were brave enough to give it a try. KUDOS to Judi Swift, Sheila Forbes, Cheryl Brines, Bruce Brines, Mani Ilango, Jan Schottle and Alice Hurley! Several players from our club did very well coming in first in their categories: Linda & John Dusharme, Kathy Hennessy & Sharon Gordon, Hiroko Kitamura & Judy Bunch and Barbara Schafer, Jackie Mullin and Martha Berner. Because of the number of players and events, please report your winnings to Jean Seager firstname.lastname@example.org for inclusion in the Forum.
BRIDGE PRO TO SPEAK AFTER MORNING GAME
For 30 minutes after the morning game, a bridge professional will give a little talk about some of the hands bid and played that morning and be available to answer any questions about the bidding or play. Eastlake Bridge Club is thrilled to be able to offer this service as a compliment to our game. Our own personal bridge genie!
HIRE A BRIDGE PRO FOR YOUR PRIVATE PARTY
Have a bridge pro sit at your table and coach you (and your guests) on the bidding and play in the comfort of your own home.
With each player the pro will be available to assist in the bidding and when the final contract is reached and played, he will analyze the play and defense. Your bidding, play of the hand and defense will improve dramatically. Invite your favorite partners to a couple hours of personalized coaching. Cost is $20.00 per person for 2 hours of fun and learning.
Remember: Take all your tricks (and some of theirs).
